While Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have been busy bees this off-season and signing players, things are still quiet at their arch-rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, who had promised to make several changes ahead of the upcoming 2018/19 PSL season.
Following yet another unsuccessful league campaign, during which the Amakhosi faithful often vented their frustrations, the club promised to make changes in preparation for the new season. Although the transfer window officially opens on 1 July, several Chiefs supporters can't help but worry about the silence of their beloved team while Bucs and Downs seem to be capturing all the high-profile players' signatures, with some of those players having been linked with the Naturena based team.
Supporters Club caught up with Khosi fan Sylvester Nkosi, who expressed his worries regarding the Phefeni team's silence.
"I just need someone to just check if my club still exist please, their silence is loud and it's so unlike Chiefs to be this quiet, especially during this busy time of the of the year," he said.
"As much as we don't reveal much before making an official announcement, we somehow try to drop hints here and there, but this time around it's totally different and I'm honestly worried. I have been checking all their social platforms, jumping from one publication to the next, and the club's official website, still there's nothing. Not even a single trace of what is happening.
"We know they will eventually make announcements but just to update us on what is happening wouldn't be such a bad idea. They are very quiet, and we just want to know what is exactly happening. It might be that they will drop massive signings, it doesn't matter, we want to be filled in and be updated."
What do you think Amakhosi's current silence means?
