Highlands Park... Separating The Boys From The Men

Highlands Park have just completed an incredible feat. A massive 34 years after they were last in South Africa's top flight, they have gained promotion to the PSL once again. They survived the gruelling promotion play-offs, and with master tactician Allan Freese at the helm, they will be looking to battle the big boys next season.

The club was originated in 1959, but has undergone many ownership and name changes since then. The original club was actually bought by Jomo Sono and renamed Jomo Cosmos. Yet today, the Lions of the North come representing the people of Tembisa in the PSL. The supporters have joined voices in welcoming the boys to the big leagues.

"Well done, Allan Freese and his players. Welcome to the PSL, the Lions of the North." – Benniemash

"Congrats, new kids on the block. But be advised where you just qualified is a warzone where the boys are separated from the men." – Gaberi

"Welcome home, boys." – jujunation4lyf

"We are in for a surprise this season, watch out for Baroka and Highlands Park." – khalilou

Next season will indeed be exciting, there will be plenty of fresh blood and talent on display with two new teams and coaches in the PSL. These clubs will be hungry to perform and should make the competition a bit more interesting…

Where do you think Baroka and Highlands Park will finish in the league next season? Do you think they will be able to compete with the big teams?
