Following the PSL’s decision to suspend all midweek and weekend fixtures, fans have voiced their opinions on the current state of affairs.
“Thank you so much Irvin Khoza for prioritizing the health and safety of SA players, spectators and public in general!”
SL Supporter @His Excellency_zmvuyo has echoed the sentiments of majority of fans across the country who have called for the safety of all stakeholders to be taken into consideration following the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
There were some mouthwatering fixtures to look forward to this week, particularly the match between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

@Ngwende has revealed why he would be smiling about the decision taken by the league.
“Me and coach Pitso are smiling because this will give our players time to rest, recover and heal from injuries.”
His sentiments are echoed by @Downs=Win who feels that the match will be more of a contest if the two teams are equally rested.
“This gives us as Sundowns a chance to rest. Pirates are a well-rested team they would have more energy than us in a game. But now because we all going to rest, the next time we meet them we will give them 6 or maybe adding 4 more to be 10..Lol”
In contrast, @El mariach says that teams are more at risk of losing momentum than they are of being well-rested, something that could go a long way in the Absa Premiership race.
“Sufficient rest is no guarantee for 3 points, this suspension of fixtures will cost some teams as they will need the momentum when the matches resume and that is of great concern for teams vying for the PSL championship. You mark my words; some teams are going to struggle because of this long layoff.”
What do you think the PSL’s decision to suspend games would mean for teams?
