“When Sundowns lose they come with a whole lot of excuses. It was a B-team, not our regulars, not match fit, and all of those things, but when the same team wins, then it's Sundowns. Why can't just people admit when they lose. Now Pitso is comparing himself to Pep, really what's this guy smoking?”
This is the assessment from SL Supporter @ Lpp after Pitso Mosimane likened his 4-2 defeat to former FC Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.
Speaking to the media after the game, Mosimane highlighted the fact that Guardiola suffered a similar fate when his Manchester City team lost to EPL strugglers Norwich City.
SL Supporter @PeaceLoving finds this rather amusing and feels that Mosimane is unrealistic in his evaluation of his side’s loss.
“Lol is Pitso comparing himself to Pep? Dear Pitso, Pep won the league in three different countries, making history at the same time. Now the same can’t be said about you, first and foremost, Sundowns is the only club you will coach and win anything because you buy all good players on offer to weaken opposition teams. I will only regard you as a good coach if you win anything elsewhere. With the players you have at your disposal at Sundowns, even a coach like Thobejane or Larsen can win the league. What you meant to say was any team can concede 4 goals. But for you to compare yourself to Pep is laughable to say the least.”
SL Supporter @somlungisi was quick to remind the 54-year-old that he had suffered defeat by a bigger margin in the past.
“Bloemfontein Celtic walloped him 5-0 when he was trying to stop Chiefs from winning the league. That time he was talking about, 'I’ve seen this movie before' lol”
Do you think Mosimane is justified in comparing the scoreline to Guardiola’s Man City?
