Do People Love The MDC More Than The PSL?

Crowd attendance at Premier Soccer League encounters has over time become a worrying factor for many clubs as we continuously see 40 000 seater stadiums with approximately 1000 fans, or even less taking time out to see their beloved teams grace the field. However, as we take a look at the MultiChoice Diski Challenge league, you will be fascinated by the crowds that are drawn in! There must be something that they are doing right…

Since the inception of the MDC league back in 2013, the popularity has grown immensely and the talent produced has turned out to be great for all local PSL teams.

Some of the supporters have spoken out about why the MDC has attracted their attention and also shared their views on the initiative:

“MDC is keeping us entertained.” – Man Theo

“The MDC reserve league is good for first team players to regain form and stay in shape, it has also been much more exciting than the PSL encounters but my concern is how many players per season are promoted to the senior team for each team participating there?” – Iminald Khosified

It’s a sign of good improvement for players and for the senior teams.” – Ndleleni ka Gconana

“To a person with brains, the MultiChoice Diski Challenge is a blessing in disguise to both the coaches and those players who do not get regular game time. Before the MDC, one can imagine how tormenting it was to the so-called fringe players to spend almost half the season as spectators.” - DubulaMkhaba

“I like this MDC, it is very pleasing to watch!” – Matayitayi

Since the MultiChoice Diski Challenge has found a way of pleasing the crowd, it remains to be seen how the senior teams in the PSL can once again get the crowd to fill the stadiums to capacity.

Why do more people attend MDC games than PSL games?
