Ah, how we long for the good old days at Bloemfontein Celtic. Siwelele add such a beautiful dimension to the South African game. Unfortunately, for them to pour this magic into the footballing community, they need a strong team on the field, and they have got off to a rocky start this season.
As sad as it is for the larger community to see a struggling Celtic, it is most heartbreaking for the Siwelele fans themselves, who have taken to their Facebook group to show their concern for the current state of things.
"Serame Letsoaka's tactics are not working for Celtic. You have a striker of Vuyisile Wana's calibre in your team, he's not even amongst the substitutes. You have a tough-as-a-nail defender in Cheslyn Jampies and you also put him on the bench! You have a creative midfielder in Lantshene Barakat Phalane, he's nowhere to be seen in your team. Let the blame game begin. Which team are we going to beat? When? What position will we be on the log?"
Other supporters have suggested that the problem is bigger than the coach.
"When Middendorp was our coach, we rated him as the worst coach, he went to Stars and beat us, and recently beat us with Maritzburg. Larsen was rated a bad coach by supporters; he came yesterday and took points from us. Serame will leave and succeed somewhere. The easy part is to sack coaches and ignore real facts. There was a time when leaving Celtic was a mission to players; nowadays, they can't wait for their contracts to end. Staff is unhappy, players are unhappy, the technical team is unhappy but expected to put a fight ka weekend and bring home three points. The easiest thing when your nose is bleeding is to put a tissue in the nose and ignore fact that it is high blood pressure you suffer from. Getting rid of Serame and ignoring the real issues behind the team's weak performances is a short-term solution, but because it's the easy thing to do, we only see it as a right thing to do."
