Could Buchanan Be Yeye's Replacement For The Khosi Nation?

The calls have been numerous and passionate for Kaizer Chiefs to ensure that next season does not resemble anything like this one. In order to do this, they need to make some changes. Supporters have, in recent weeks, lamented Amakhosi's transfer policy and business model, saying that management do not respect them or make key signings. What do the Keagan Buchanan rumours then mean?

Buchanan, the Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder, is set to leave the club at the end of season and has been strongly linked with a move to Naturena. The supporters seem elated about this possibility.

"Good player indeed. If you decide to join mighty Amakhosi, we will welcome you with open arms." – Msholozill

"You have a position at Khosi, boy." – Sandei.za

"We really need Keagan more than any other team." – Tapelo_sa15

So it seems the possibility of the Celtic midfielder joining Amakhosi is welcome news. However, a few supporters have raised their eyebrows at the fact that Naturena management is seeking yet another free agent, and some wonder if this is the marquee signing the supporters have been calling for...

On top of this, the elephant in the room has to be addressed. Is Buchanan a viable replacement for Reneilwe Letsholonyane? And if we want to dive even further into the issue, one must ask: Should Naturena have let "Yeye" leave at all?

Considering that Pirates pulled the necessary strings to keep Oupa Manyisa at the club, can we say that Chiefs have been wise in their transfer dealings? The club suffered heavily after letting Tefu Mashamaite and Mandla Masango leave at the end of last season. They also almost lost Itumeleng Khune too, and, more recently, they have lost Reyaad Pieterse and Yeye…

So is Buchanan enough? Should Chiefs be focusing on keeping valuable players, or adding them?

Have your say: Do you feel Chiefs' transfer policy respects your wishes as a supporter?
