Kaizer Chiefs lost 3-1 to Chippa United last weekend. Amakhosi were first to draw blood, but ended up losing the game. The defeat resulted in some ugly scenes, with a section of Amakhosi fans throwing bottles at the club's head coach, Steve Komphela. Some of our supporters have been talking about this on our platforms – here's what some of them had to say.
"This has to be the worst coach Chiefs have ever had. Every player in that Chiefs squad is demotivated, they probably no longer want the coach there anymore – as much as us supporters and fans. We are going down with this guy (Komphela)." – Mongstarr
"George Lebese was dead on the pitch. As much as we can blame the coach, even the Chiefs players are failing to do what they are getting paid to do. Chiefs can get another coach but with that performance from the players that coach won't last." – Mbixane
"I have to stay calm and take the punches‚ that is the job of the coach. Who else must be punched? I must stand and be strong. I will only waver the minute I feel the pressure that should be on me is now getting to my players. He is sure to destroy the players before he leaves. We don't want your sermon or you asking for sympathy. Just leave." – Another funeral#1
"Chiefs are a winning team, a champ of all time, a beast, but with Komphela I don't know what to call them, hey." – Khosi Style
"Hey, Mr Dictionary, just hand yourself a resignation for your own sake and reputation before other teams see you as a failure hebatho why are you still at Khosi, nah? Oh, I think he really wants to send Khosi straight to NFD then hand in his resignation, this guy, though." – Big boy aka Melo
Do you think the above comments are fair on coach Komphela?
