Four months ago, a newborn was brought into the mix in the PSL. Cape Town City FC came into being after former Ajax Cape Town co-founder John Comitis bought the Mpumalanga Black Aces franchise, which caused a massive stir in the football fraternity at the time. A few months down the line, however, the club has grown from strength to strength.
It rather amazing to see how the team that had to endure a number of changes and even moving to a new province has become such a well-rounded club in such a short space of time. Cape Town City have been running rings around the other PSL clubs, and it seems like they are not stopping any time soon.
Eric Tinkler was brought in to guide the City ship and he has been doing a superb job. With the players he has at his disposal, their opponents should definitely be keeping a watchful eye.
It remains to be seen what more the Cape side have up their sleeves for the remainder of the season!
What are your thoughts on Cape Town City's progress this season?
