The election results are in and the outcome is unsurprising. Dr. Irvin Khoza will be the Chairman of the National Soccer League once again. The Iron Duke is as busy as he is successful, the question is; is he too busy? Can he lead both Orlando Pirates and the PSL to glory?
Similar questions were asked of SAFA President Danny Jordaan when he was leading the tattered organization whilst simultaneously unsuccessfully campaigning for the mayorship of Port Elizabeth.
Now the supporters are wondering if Khoza’s chairmanship will distract his focus away from steering his club through troubled waters.
“Orlando Pirates suffers because of him not exerting much of his time to the team rather he exert it too much to the league itself. How long are we going to suffer while looking after the organisation called PSL? Can Dr. K please look into how we gain our dignity in the PSL as a team of OP.” - Alberthm
“If Kaizer and Khoza are not there to enrich themselves, they must quit and focus on their Clubs. Their Clubs need them more than NSL needs them. Chicks and X6 FC are not doing well, they have become a laughing stock in local football.
“Khoza stands to loose millions if he doesn't campaign for NSL Chairmanship position, an opportunity he cannot afford to loose even if it mean to neglect X6 FC. It is impossible for him to focus his full attention to X6 FC. He assigned all the responsibilities to Floyd Mbele. Mbele is Khoza's right hand man.” - Setlaboswana
“We need a quality coach to take us forward at Bucs n Khoza is busy with other things!” - Nhlapo
“Khoza the Hayatou of PSL, damn Pirates will forever drowning like a fish until its get relegated because Khoza is just busy with PSL and improving Arrows.” – Zax5-Bucs
However, many supporters still throw their weight behind Khoza and see the value he gives to the local game, even if it comes at the price of Orlando Pirates.
“Without Khoza SA football would b like a coffee without sugar, you can't talk about it without mentioning with same as you can't talk about Freedom in this country and not mention Nelson Mandela.” - thandoz
Do you think Khoza can lead both Pirates and the NSL and still help Pirates to be successful?
