Bucs Fans Left Disgruntled: Micho Betrayed Us!

The news of Milutin Sredojevic’s resignation as head coach of Orlando Pirates left the country dazed and confused as the announcement had come out of nowhere.

Perhaps it was felt more by the Pirates’ fans who had pinned their hopes of a trophy on the shoulders of the Serbian mentor.

The project at Pirates had just started taking shape, players were heeding to the requirements of the man known as Micho.

Along with the talented duo of Rulani Mokwena and Fadlu Davids, Pirates looked to be building a dynasty, much to the excitement of the fans.

Sredojevic has since been announced as the coach of Egyptian giants Zamalek, leaving Bucs fans feeling dejected and betrayed.

The general feeling among the supporters is that Micho was chasing a bigger cheque rather than seeing through a project he had started at Pirates.

Check out some of the fans’ comments.

“With due respect to coach Micho and his "personal issue" i think he betrayed the spiritual owners (Bucs supporters) of the on earth he quits Pirates after having a pre-season with them? Was he not laying a foundation with the team ahead of the new season? Coach Micho you betrayed us. I can’t only forgive you but not forget the love you instilled in our hearts, the unbearable pain and wounds you left us with. All the best with your new club and in future endeavours. Once a Pirate, always a Pirate.”

SL Supporter: Madredz
“Micho is very cruel. He chased away all our best players and after that, what? I will never forgive you Micho. You were here to destroy Pirates, not to build. Where on earth have you seen a team signing more than 8 players every season. Don’t ever come back to Pirates. I hate you Micho.”

SL Supporter: Msanisto
“The truth is there. He was offered more money by Zamalek and, as is always the case with coaches and players, he took the offer. The gullible will then blame the club as if it is the only party that must uphold the contract.”

SL Supporter: Tshepo@1
“This to me is uncalled for, we tried our best to support him while (leaving) us trophyless, it was going to be nice if he discussed this with the team and ask a press conference so that everything is clear. Anyway, thanks for nothing.”

SL Supporter: Gebase
“Good riddance, Micho, you never did anything for Pirates, and the clock was already ticking for you, guess you were clever enough to read it. And good luck, and I am sure you will need it, this is Egypt, where football is a religion and not South Africa.”

Do you think Coach Micho betrayed Orlando Pirates by joining Zamalek?
