Bafana Bafana have a foot in the door! The boys have progressed to the final of the COSAFA Cup after a 5-1 demolition of Swaziland on Wednesday. They will now face the Zebras of Botswana in the final on Saturday. Finally, some good news for the South African football supporter!
"Well done, young boys. I wish this team can represent Bafana Bafana at all stages. These boys have spirit." – Spancer
"It was fantastic. The boys did well." – Katzarobbafana
"Bring the cup home, Bafana." – Ncapisto
It seems that, after a disastrous Afcon 2017 qualifying campaign, in which the only thing to smile about was Hlompho Kekana's goal from the halfway line, South Africans finally have some good news.
It was not a stress-free day, though. Bafana began by going down a goal to our landlocked neighbors. After which a red card turned things on its head, and the goals began pouring in.
Bafana were playing in front of an empty stadium, but plenty eyes were watching the young talent on display back home, and will continue to do so.
This is a brief and fleeting opportunity for Bafana to win some silverware and for our U23s to boost their confidence ahead of the Olympics.
Go, Bafana, go!
What is your message for the boys ahead of the final?
