A trophy-less and barren season for the defending, forever fearless, champions. One thing is for certain, this cannot happen again. So, all are in agreement: Kaizer Chiefs must enter the transfer market and come out with a basket full of fresh legs to pound in the goals and stop the shots. There's only one problem – the bus is already full… Which baggage needs to be offloaded?
Soccer Laduma website user Nhlanhla Msimang insisted that some of the deadwood at the club needs to be sold.
"First and foremost, we need to start selling," he said, adding that Amakhosi should get rid of Morgan Gould, Ivan Bukenya, Lucky Baloyi, Sula Matovu, Bongani Ndulula and Bernard Parker, who he feels are no longer needed at the club.
Another SL reader, Mr Mawutha, had his own suggestions as to who should go.
"Give (Siphelele) Mthembu, Parker and (Siboniso) Gaxa a free clearance," he said.
It seems everyone agrees something needs to change, but no one can agree on who precisely should go. The supporters certainly seem to be calling for the forwards' heads more than anyone else, though.
This is understandable. If you pick up today's paper edition of Soccer Laduma, you will see that Kaizer Chiefs strikers' league goals tallies reads as follows:
Camaldine Abraw = 4
Parker = 2
Edward Manqele = 1
Ndulula = 0
Mthembu = 0.
Total = 7
Not exactly a championship strike force by the look of things, so is this the first place in which to seek change? SL Website user King sm certainly thinks so.
"Every striker at Chiefs should be loaned out to other clubs, they are useless," he said.
Should Chiefs change their entire strike force? Or are there still some valuable players there?
