It is do or die for Bafana Bafana tonight as they play host to Cameroon in the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The team has suffered a blow after three players were ruled out of the much-anticipated clash tonight due to injuries - with Thulani Serero, Sifiso Hlanti and Rivaldo Coetzee coming in for the injured trio.
A win tonight would revive Bafana and the whole nation's hopes of qualifying for Gabon next year. The last time AFCON was hosted in Gabon, in 2012 where they co-hosted alongside Equatorial Guinea, Bafana failed to make the cut. Shakes Mashaba's men, who occupy third spot in Group M, will need maximum points tonight, and Mfundisi Sigcino, a Supporter's Club member, believes that the boys are going to win.
"As we speak I am just outside the stadium. The atmosphere is great and we're all here to support our boys," he said.
"We're going to win this match and I have no doubt about that. We will score three goals in this match. We'll definitely score goals in this match. The boys know how to beat Cameroon. You must also remember that Moses Mabhida Stadium is a happy hunting ground for Bafana Bafana."
Shakes will be looking to the likes of Tokelo Rantie, Thamsanqa Gabuza and Hlompho Kekana for the goals, after the latter scored what many people believe is the best Bafana goal ever.
