Angry Amakhosi Fans Speak: We Won’t Stand In Billiat’s Way!

The latest news from the Mamelodi Sundowns camp is that they have been in talks with Kaizer Chiefs regarding the possible transfer of Zimbabwean star Khama Billiat. Amakhosi fans have weighed in on this latest development.

Billiat joined Amakhosi in 2018 to much fanfare, after spending five successful seasons at Chloorkop.

During that time the 28-year-old won a number of trophies which included  three Absa Premiership titles, the CAF Champions league and the CAF Super Cup to name a few.

This naturally created an expectation within Chiefs fans for Billiat to put an end to their ongoing trophy drought.

Billiat however, has failed to live up to the expectation of certain Chiefs fans. In the 35 matches he played for the Soweto giants he contributed 19 goals, scoring nine and assisting a further 10 goals.

Opinions have been split on whether Billiat should be sold to Sundowns for what is believed to be a substantial offer, or whether the club should hold onto Billiat in the hope that he will spur them on to finally win a trophy.

See some of the fans’ comments below.

SL Supporter: Honestkhosi:“Honestly!! We don't have to stand on Billiat's way. If Billiat wants to leave, let's give him a green light, blessings and good wishes. I think at a reasonable price-tag Bobby can utilize that money to lure another star from Nigeria or Zambia as Billiat replacement. Because there's always a replacement for anyone. David Beckham once thought he was irreplaceable, and Man United will suffer without him. Suddenly, somebody called Cristiano Ronaldo, comes and surpass what Beckham use to do. My greatest fear in this deal is that... Bobby is greedy, he might pocket that money and not signing another quality player as a part of reinforcement of the team, and probably an investment to the club. Our team is still struggling in the midfield. There's no supplier who can feed the strikers with quality passes. Unless we call Shabba back to come and play that role for us.”

“Billiat is a great player but he can go to downs and he must take Castro to sweeten the deal so they can reignite the CBD combo they once had.”

SL Supporter: Dedeza
“Khama should ask the likes of Masenamela ,Mashamaite even Baloyi ,what happens to a player when you leave Chiefs while supporters still need you.”

SL Supporter: MS
“Bobby, Chaiman Kaizer Motaung; don't let Billiat go. Do all u can to stop him, Chiefs brand was built with trophies not money.”

SL Supporter: Harold Motsamai
“I just wish Kaizer Chiefs refuse to release Billiat back to Sundowns. This is disrespectful of Sundowns. Do they think we have no use for this player?”

Do you think Khama Billiat should return to Mamelodi Sundowns or should he stay with Chiefs?
