An all-important test, the World Cup Qualifiers, lies ahead for Bafana Bafana, and this requires an equally important selection programme. One massive point of debate has been the goalkeeping department, and the supporters have been discussing the best man to save us in the qualifiers.
On the Soccer Laduma Facebook group yesterday, we asked: Between Brighton Mhlongo, Jackson Mabokgwane, and Itumeleng Khune, who should start for Bafana Bafana?
A few supporters, who will remain anonymous to protect their privacy, had the following to say on the matter:
"An injured Khune is equal to Mhlongo, but an injury-free Khune is equal to Mhlongo + Mabokgwane. Just because I'm a Pirates fan doesn't mean I should be biased. Khune is the best in SA."
"Khune and Mabokgwane are solid goalkeepers. I like Mhlongo as a Pirates fan, but he seems to make things look difficult even if they aren't."
Others were of the view that Khune is a bad omen for the team...
"Khune has failed to help the nation qualify before, and Mashaba gave Senzo an opportunity, and guess what? We qualified! So give others a chance."
Who do you think should be the hands of stone for Bafana Bafana?
