There is much confusion and debate surrounding Ajax Cape Town defender Abbubaker Mobara's future – it was confirmed last week that Orlando Pirates had been given the go-ahead to engage in contract terms with the player, but Mamelodi Sundowns have now claimed to have approached the 22-year-old a while back.
Speaking to the Supporters Club, Ajax fan Gladys Gailey gave her views on the current situation between the three clubs.
"I am not impressed!" she said.
"First of all, I spoke to these young players about rushing into moving to the bigger teams up in Gauteng and that it was not a good idea, but do they listen?
"These days, when money is flashed in their faces, they forget about their careers and chase after the higher salary scales.
"I honestly do not approve of these rumours that have been surfacing of Mobara moving to Pirates or Sundowns.
"I believe that he should grow here at Ajax and then make an overseas move when the time is right, but if he does decide to move, he must prepare himself to warm the bench as it has happened to too many of the previous Ajax players."
With there being disapproval from the Ajax faithful of Mobara possible exit from the Cape Town-based club, it remains to be seen where the young man will ply his trade next season, although he has apparently told Ajax of his desire to move to Chloorkop.
"It is really a confusing situation as we do not know what is really happening between the three clubs," Gailey added.
"I guess we all have to wait patiently to see what decisions will be made, but I hope, for Abbubaker's sake, it will not be a career-threatening one."
Which team do you think Mobara should go to, Pirates or Sundowns?
