With Mpumalanga Black Aces set to move to the Mother City after former Ajax Cape Town boss John Comitis bought over AmaZayoni, there has been much speculation as to how the team will be received by Capetonians.
Speaking on behalf of the Ajax Cape Town faithful, supporter Gladys Gailey welcomed the team with opened arms.
"You know, at first I was upset because I thought John (Comitis) was coming back to Ajax!" she said.
"He is a great man and the Aces team have gained a well-experienced owner."
With the move to Cape Town confirmed, it has left a lump in the throat of supporters back in Mpumalanga, and the province has now officially lost a formidable local club.
"I feel sorry for their supporters as they have always been faithful to the team," Gladys added.
"It's going to be hard for them to attend the games as they now will have to travel to the Cape for home fixtures."
As the club now looks ahead to a new life in the Cape, they will be seeking to win over the hearts of the fans.
"They will definitely get support here," Gladys continued.
"Now Ajax Cape Town have competition and we look forward to it."
As the off-season continues, it will be interesting to see the new developments that will take place with Comitis' new club.
What do you think Mpumalanga Black Aces should be called now that the club has moved to Cape Town?
