Let's take a closer look at what the readers had to say...

Comments

Although Bafana Bafana have face some of the continent's giants in Mali, Tunisia and Morocco, their biggest test at AFCON looks set to come from the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde.

Cape Verde finished comfortably on top of Group B, managing seven points in their three matches against Ghana, Egypt and Mozambique.

They've proven to be quite lethal in the final third, bagging eight goals in the tournament so far and will likely test Bafana's defence that's kept three clean sheets in-a-row.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Why Cape Verde Could Be Bafana's Biggest Threat" story:

"Let them come, Rulani Mokoena will send the boys advice," says @chiefs is useful.

"Sundowns will definitely deal with them nicely, they don't even need to panic. Remember, Sundowns knows how to win the games, Ka Bo Yellow boys will be playing their style tomorrow and you will be shocked," adds @chiefs is useful.

"Bafana Bafana is playing sir," says Skyvodka.

"It's football and 90 minutes will tell," says makausemakause.

"Hayi no, Bafana will torture those guys, mark my words," says mthunzijack7.

"We all South Africans wish for that, but this is football," replies bhekilekhuleni6.

Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena has been one of the stand outs at the AFCON so far, bagging a spectacular freekick in the Round of 16 against Morocco on Tuesday in a Man of the Match showing.

Siya Crew sources close to the player and Sundowns have indicated that Ligue 1 club AS Monaco and an unnamed English Premier League club have inquired about the player.

Monaco's interest in Mokoena has reportedly been there for a while according to the source, with 27-year-old's contract at Downs expiring in 2025.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Mokoena Attracts EPL & Ligue 1 Interests?" story:

"No more players should go to Europe, Sundowns is Europe, case closed," says @chiefs is useful.

"We are not a selling team and we don't celebrate our players who go overseas like small teams. We keep our players but if the offer is great, we then let the players leave," says user250737.

"Sundowns is not a selling team and our competition is Al Ahly, Wydad, Zamalek and Raja, who buy players from European leagues. Look at Tau, he is a shadow of himself at the Afcon. We tried selling Mailula just to please the media, the boy hasn't played soccer since. I make 900k per annum, imagine 400k per month, its a lot of money in South Africa. Mailula left Sundowns to earn 250k per month, doesn't make sense," says tshepolegodi.za.

"+- 8 South African players deserve to go and play overseas. Only age can be the stumbling block to go abroad," says Bucs365.

"His move will benefit Aubaas," says Shikabala.

"Let him go. There is enough players in his position at Downs. He must be released for his benefits," says Skyvodka.

"Please Sundowns allow him to go, if there is a good offer that will benefit both the player and the team. But my worry is that every time a European team buys players from South Africa, either they sit in the bench or loan them back to African teams and in fact they don't play them.
