Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced a 32-man preliminary squad for this month's friendly matches against Andorra and Algeria.

As mentioned by SAFA, Bafana will be involved in the FIFA Series international friendlies pilot project in Algeria for these friendlies.

It will be the first time that Broos reunites with his team since the Africa Cup of Nations, where his Bafana side walked away with a bronze medal.

Bafana will play their first match against Andorra in Annaba, on Thursday, 21 March 2024. They will then face hosts Algeria at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers on Tuesday, 26 March.

The preliminary squad sees the inclusion of Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma, Siyabonga Ngezana, the return of Innocent Maela, Goodman Mosele and the surprise selection of AmaZulu's Mlondi Mbanjwa, with Golden Arrows' Bradley Cross also named.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Broos Names Bafana Squad For Algeria & Andorra Clashes" story:

"When he said last year Chiefs players are not worth to be looked at for national team I was one of the people who felt angry about the statement made. Now I am 100% in agreement with the coach.

"Bvuma is the only player who shows commitment and dedication for now and deserves to be looked at. Even if the coach select 100 players Chiefs players wont be included. There is disaster there not a problem," says eric.ncube.

"Mr. Broos, Mudau and Mvala are injured and they have never played a single game for their team, Sundowns, since they last played in the AFCON. Maybe they are not Sundowns players anymore and they are Bafana Bafana FC players according to you Broos," says bhekilekhuleni6.

"I'm a Pirates supporter but I feel Maswanganyi should have been called in earlier matches, not now. He's joined the long list of players who relax once they become famous because of the platform that Pirates afford them. He's supposedly a No. 10 but he no longer creates chances for, let alone score, any goals.
