Sundowns returned to winning ways in the DStv Premiership after a last-gasp 1-0 win over Richards Bay courtesy of Junior Mendieta a week ago.
The Brazilians remained unbeaten since the start of the season as they have a ten-point lead at the top of the log, with at least three games in hand.
Spurs, on the other hand, started 2024 on a good note after going on a four-match unbeaten run but they have since suffered back-to-back defeats against Moroka Swallows and Chippa United.
As a result, Ernst Middendorp's charges remained bottom of the table with 12 points, five points behind 15th-placed Richards Bay.
Sundowns are looking to complete a six-point haul over the Urban Warriors after thrashing them 3-0 in the reverse thanks to goals by Sipho Mbule, Grant Kekana and Peter Shalulile.
