Mamelodi Sundowns will be fighting for a spot in the CAF Champions League final when they host Esperance in the semi-final second-leg on Friday evening.
CAF Champions League
Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Esperance
Date: 26 April 2024
Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium
Time: 20h00
Sundowns are on the back foot after losing the first-leg 1-0 and could not get the crucial away goal a week ago in Tunisia.
The Brazilians rested all 11 players who started the first-leg in their DStv Premiership clash on Tuesday after edging Sekhukhune United 2-1 thanks to early goals by Tashreeq Matthews and Thapelo Morena.
Sundowns need to win by at least a two-goal margin to go through to the final.
Esperance, on the other hand, have the advantage of a lead thanks to a goal scored by Yan Sasse just before the break in the first-leg.
The Tunisian giants did not have any game during the week as they need a minimum of any draw, which will see them go through to the final.
ES Tunis will also go through if they lose by a one-goal margin, provided they are on the scoresheet.
