The quarter-final first-leg clashes between the eight teams will run until 22 October, while the return legs are set for the 24th and 25th of this month.

The Brazilians will be up against Petro de Luanda on Saturday evening in the first-leg away in Angola and the return leg is set for next week Tuesday.

The tournament, born in partnership between CAF and FIFA, brought together the continent's most successful teams from three regional blocs.

All the matches will be broadcast globally after FIFA announced that all the quarter-final fixtures will be streamed live on FIFA+ (fifa.com), available in all countries worldwide, except in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Tanzania.

For South African viewers, SABC have so far announced that they will broadcast the Simba vs Al Ahly clash. However, the Sundowns away fixture against Petro de Luanda is expected to be delayed to 6 pm on the SABC Sport Channel. It is also available on livestream on SABC+ and the SABC Sport website.

Indications are that SuperSport do not have the AFL fixtures on their planning schedule, as MultiChoice is yet to confirm whether they will broadcast the games.

Meanwhile, the Brazilians will have all their internationals available after seven of their players, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, Aubrey Modiba, Themba Zwane, Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala, Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau could not feature in their penalty shootout loss against TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout last 16, following a 2-2 draw in extra-time on Wednesday, as they were with Bafana Bafana a day before in a friendly against Ivory Coast.

Namibian Peter Shalulile also did not feature for Sundowns against the Rockets.

The game will be a historic moment for the Tshwane giants, who are set to have unprecedented financial rewards in Africa's richest club competition.

Sundowns' clash with Petro will be a potential "grudge" game for Rulani Mokwena's charges after they were knocked out of the CAF Champions League in the quarter-finals by the Angolan giants in the 2021/22 season.
