The Siya crew has been informed that Mamelodi Sundowns are interested in keeping coach Manqoba Mngqithi beyond the end of the current season.

The former Golden Arrows mentor’s contract with the club is due to expire in June 2024 and while there are no official talks on the matter as yet, it’s understood that the Tshwane giants are looking at keeping him due to the value he adds to the technical team.

Having previously served as a co-coach, the 52-year-old’s role as senior coach in the first team is not undermined, as per Siya sources. He has previously been linked with clubs such as Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC in the past, but it seems the Chloorkop-based outfit could give Mngqithi a new deal to keep him at the club for a few more years, though nothing has been agreed to at this stage.
