Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates could lose a major target to a Sudanese club, the Siya crew has been informed.

Soccer Laduma reported how Pirates may be joining Chiefs in the pursuit of Malawian forward Lanjesi Nkhoma but another club has moved quickly to possibly get ahead of the queue.

That club is Al Hilal who are now the favourites for the enterprising winger's signature. Siya sources coming out of both Malawi and South Africa have indicated that Al Hilal could have offered Nyasa Big Bullets their buy out clause in the player's contract.

The sources added that Bullets have a $30 000 (which is approximately R571 000) buy out clause which the Sudanese side is willing to settle for to sign the winger.

"The interest from Al Hilal has been there for sometime. It was even before Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates. That means it was last year but because there was the war at that time then things didn't look good," said the Siya source.

"But now that their league is back on track then they have reignited that interest and they are in the forefront to sign him. It's not a done deal yet but it looks better than Chiefs or Pirates. It could have been great for him to go to South Africa but that team in Sudan has money also to afford him," the source said.

A second Siya source added that the financial challenges in the buyout clause will come to the fore as to which team eventually signs him.

"Although Al Hilal are the favourites to sign him or land his signature it will all depend on the club that will pay that K50 million (the same US $30 000) to Bullets which is in the buyout clause that the player has with Bullets," said the second Siya source.

"That's all that Bullets are looking at to finalise the deal for the player," the source told Soccer Laduma.

When contacted for comment Bullets CEO Suzgo Nyirenda stated that they are waiting for official communication from the Sudanese club.

"We have not yet received any official communication. If we get it then you will be advised accordingly," Nyirenda told the Siya crew.
