Kaizer Chiefs could renew the contract of one of their left backs while the search continues for a long term solution in this position, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi were on the look out for a left back to replace Sifiso Hlanti.

Now, Siya sources have indicated that Chiefs could instead just renew the contract of former Bafana Bafana left back Hlanti.
The sources have added that the reason for this may be due to the club losing interest in Stellenbosch FC left back Fawaaz Basadien and Tanzania international Mohamed Hussein.
"You know the club only just renewed his contract for one season at the start of this current season because they had players in mind who were supposed to come in and replace him when he leaves at the end of this current season," said the Siya source.
"But the way things are going it's becoming tough to sign that left back. Tanzanian Mohamed Hussein has offers from Europe and his club Simba SC prefer Europe to Chiefs. Basadien of Stellenbosch FC had signed a new contract with the club which means he won't come cheap considering teams like Mamelodi Sundowns are also interested in him.
"That's why the club is set to offer another one year to Hlanti so that they are safe in that department. It's not a done deal yet but a deal is on the cards and it could happen before the end of the season," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second Siya source stated that they don't want to let an experienced defender like Hlanti go before they find a replacement.
"For them it's not a difficult decision to make. They have him (Hlanti) and Happy Mashiane in that position though sometimes Edmilson Dove is also utilised in that position.
"So if they let him go they will remain with only Happy and Dove and they don't want to find themselves in that situation and that's why they are set to keep him for another season at least.
"But talks will start soon because management has made that decision with the help of the technical team," the source observed.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
