Reports in the UK have labelled the future of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag as uncertain, and this affects the status of the Dutchman’s backroom staff too – including Benni McCarthy.
Ten Hag did seemingly give himself a lifeline by beating Liverpool in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup last weekend to edge closer to winning a trophy this season and setting up a fixture against Coventry City at Wembley next month.
But the general feeling, even among some of the club legends like Gary Neville, is that the former Ajax Amsterdam coach could be on his way out.
