With Amiens demanding a whopping R77-million transfer fee, indications are that Rangers were initially reluctant to pay such a large sum, especially considering the financial impact of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

The Siya crew had it on good authority that negotiations between Amiens and Rangers were at an advanced stage and Zungu, whose contract with the club that was relegated from the French top division last season expires in June next year, was poised for a switch to Scotland.
