Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has bemoaned the presence of the Simba SC fans in his side’s shock 1-0 loss in their CAF Champions League group stage encounter.

Before the game, Mosimane had spoken about the threat posed by their Tanzanian counterparts, who he described as a strong and organised team.
The 56-year-old also singled out former Mamelodi Sundowns player Luís Miquissone as Simba’s main threat. Indeed Mosimane’s premonition proved to be correct as the 25-year-old netted the only goal of the game, handing the former Sundowns coach his first Champions League defeat as Al Ahly coach.
After the match Mosimane had some choice words about CAF’s decision to allow fans into the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, giving the home side the advantage.
“We have to be professional after any loss, but the game could be held in better circumstances. I am a professional coach and I have no comments on the fans’ attendance as it was the CAF’s decision, but what happened today did not happen in any place in the world,” Mosimane said.
Despite the loss, Mosimane remains upbeat over Ahly’s remaining matches and is confident of his side’s chances of progressing to the next round of the competition.
“We still have four remaining games in the group stage, and we will fight to reach the next round.
“We aimed to dominate the possession in today’s game, but we missed several chances in the first half, and in these games, we have to take all of our chances,” he added.
