Orlando Pirates have confirmed which of their upcoming matches will be open to fans, as clubs welcome the return of supporters after more than two years.
Following the PSL’s big announcement on Tuesday that football fans are set to return to match venues starting on April 08 during the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals, there has been excitement in the fraternity about the news.
Attending football matches live at the stadiums in Mzansi had been banned since March 2020, following the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.
Pirates have confirmed that while they will be expecting fans to attend the match against Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on April 13, it will be against Chippa United on April 27 that the club will be looking forward to as it will be the team’s first home match in Orlando after the announcement.
“The announcement means that the Orlando Pirates faithful has the opportunity to watch the team up close at Peter Mokaba Stadium, where they will be taking on Baroka on Wednesday, 13 April. The Buccaneers will be welcoming fans back into Orlando Stadium when they host Chippa United on 27 April,” Pirates confirmed on the club’s official website.
