Although he is doubtful for selection for the Kaizer Chiefs match, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi has made great strides to get back to his usual self after his recent hijacking ordeal.
After Buthelezi was hijacked and kidnapped last week, Pirates coach Jose Riveiro confirmed earlier this week that the shot-stopper was back with the team and receiving all the assistance he needs to get him to overcome the ordeal.

In 2022, while he was with TS Galaxy, Buthelezi had been a victim of hijacking where he and his brother were stabbed in Soweto but he managed to overcome that and became one of the top goalkeepers in the league.
Despite the latest experience, the 26-year-old is going strong and appearing to get past this to focus on his career.

“One thing about the guy is that he is strong. He is one of the friendly and joyful people to be around with in the team and it’s just how he is. He’s got the support of everyone, and he will soon bounce back,” said the source.
With the Buccaneers finalising preparations for the Chiefs clash, Sipho Chaine is likely to keep his place in goal to continue with his progress since reclaiming the number one jersey in the first match of the year, against Mamelodi Sundowns, after returning from injury.
