Orlando Pirates have already won three trophies in two seasons under coach Jose Riveiro and have now progressed to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
Former Bucs left back Innocent Chikoya believes that if the team plays the same way they do in cup games for their league matches then they could be competing for the PSL title.

Talking to Soccer Laduma, the Zimbabwean born legend stated that it seems Pirates place more emphasis on their cup games when compared to the PSL.
"What I think is that in cup games they go all out. They know it's a once off game which doesn't have a second round and they fight hard to win. If they can approach league games with the same mentality they could up their fight with Mamelodi Sundowns for the top spot," Chikoya told the Siya crew.
"They deserve to be there. If they can change their mentality and approach league games the same way they do with cup games they will be the team to beat. I tell you!" Chikoya believes.
The legend then goes on to look at the lack of consistency in the DStv Premiership and underlines that this should be their bread and butter, not the cups.
"Look at the way they beat Golden Arrows? If they can continue with that then they can end in a good position and qualify for the Champions League. They have to maintain consistency. That's what makes you win the league title.
"They have a great team and the players are understanding each other very well now. If they can just be consistent then they will challenge Sundowns for the league title going forward. Yes, it's good to win other trophies like the MTN8 or the Nedbank Cup but the league is the ultimate prize and we have to fight hard to win it soon," Chikoya concluded.
Pirates' next league match is against AmaZulu at Orlando Stadium on Saturday. The two sides recently met in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals where Bucs outplayed AmaZulu 4-2 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
