Having recently brought in Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Samkelo Zwane as a client, Prosport International's Mike Makaab has explained why it's been difficult for the Amakhosi youth product to get regular game time at Naturena.

Along with Zwane, Prosport manages the careers of Amakhosi youngsters Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi, who was recently handed a first team contract at Naturena until 2028.

Zwane, meanwhile, has been struggling to break into the starting line-up and Makaab has given his thoughts on the matter, saying it's difficult for the technical team at Naturena to play young players when the club is going through a difficult period.

"He has come to our stable. (I am) Very excited that we get to look after the careers of these four kids (Zwane, Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi. Our commitment to Kaizer Chiefs is that we will do everything in our paper to add value to the career development of these kids. We will do our best to work with the football club and the players to make sure we assist them and unlock their full potential," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"I've spoken to the youngsters about this. It's always difficult for any football coach to play young players when the team is not playing consistently well because your fear as a coach is that the pressure on the younger players, under the difficult circumstances, might affect them negatively. I don't think it's a matter of the coach. I think it's because the team is struggling to find any sort of consistently. It's difficult to blame the technical staff for not wanting to play young players."
