With Kaizer Chiefs expected to make coaching changes, possibly at the end of the season, the club has been advised to also focus on their scouting of players.

Chiefs’ football manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that the club has planned for Cavin Johnson to finish the season in his role as interim coach of the first team.

The former Al Ahly assistant coach will then be expected to return to his role as the head of Academy, which is the position he was employed for when he joined the club in September. Though, that decision is not final yet, as Johnson could keep his position as first team head coach.

For the 2023/24 season, the Glamour Boys signed the likes of Pule Mmodi, Given Msimango, Ranga Chivaviro, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Edson Castillo, Tebogo Potsane, Jasond Gonzales and Luke Fleurs.

“Kaizer Chiefs’ success is winning and bringing in trophies. They must change their criteria, and they must drastically do so and not just like a player. They must watch these players play a certain number of times – 30 or 40 times, watch videos, watch how his character is like on the field when the team is losing. Is he the type of a player that can create an equaliser and get the team back into the game? When you are winning 1-0, is he the type of a player that can keep the opponents at bay?” said Stylianou, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.
