Kaizer Chiefs talisman Keagan Dolly provided an honest assessment of his performances for Amakhosi this season, which by his own admission, have been underwhelming for the most part.

Every footballer experiences a point where they go through a slump, a dip in form or a loss of confidence, which can be attributed to a multitude of factors such as injury, rigid competition within the team or a change in coaching.
For Dolly there have been a few contributing factors since his arrival from Chiefs in 2021.
He has had four different coaches in Stuart Baxter, Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson. Injuries also haven't been kind to the 31-year-old, which saw him miss over 25 matches in all competitions for Chiefs over the last few seasons.
In addition, reports of Dolly's exorbitant salary in some factions of the fraternity have piled the pressure on the attacker, with supporters' expectations of him naturally raised.
For Dolly however, he is putting in the work to ensure that he gets back to his mesmerizing best in the famous Gold and Black.
"Obviously [I'm] not the happiest [with my performances], I haven't been playing much, picking up small niggles here and there and obviously coming back trying to get back to where I was when I joined the team, you know, start scoring goals, creating more chances for the club.
“Sometimes you put too much pressure on yourself, and you try to overdo it. And for me now it’s just to, you know, get back into a good space and compose myself and just try to deliver on the field and lead by example on the field with my performances.
“I think from Golden Arrows, I looked at the stats, it was an improvement and for me now it's just to keep on going and keep this momentum and just try to improve each and every game."
There has also been a change in leadership, with Dolly taking over the captain's armband from Itumeleng Khune, with Yusuf Maart currently skippering the team, which has played its part in easing the pressure from the Westbury-born man.
“Not really. I feel like on the field there's a lot of players that that can be the captains on the day. With us, we have a leadership group that we are six or seven players that try to share the leadership role.
“In a way, maybe it took a little bit of pressure off from me. I'm not focused too much on trying to help everyone on the field and forget on my game. So now I can start focusing on being the best Keagan I can be to help the team," he said.
