Official stats indicate that he has featured seven times this season, though none of his appearances have been for spells longer than 20 minutes and now Kaizer Chiefs youngster Samkelo Zwane is itching to get more game time.

Zwane is into his second season with the first team, having been blooded in by his namesake Arthur Zwane in the last campaign.

In his maiden season, he made 15 appearances in all competitions, though the biggest difference between the two campaigns was that 10 of those appearances came as a starter.

In the current campaign, Zwane has played a bit-part role, more often than not coming on as a late substitute to see out games.

He is yet to make a start for Chiefs this season.

Despite his limited game time, Zwane has vowed to put in the hard work required to get back into the reckoning at Naturena with the DStv Premiership set to resume in the coming days.

“I’m well. I have been keeping fit, training with the guys. I have been working very hard in training, just waiting for my opportunity, which I’ll grab with both hands,” he told the club’s official website.

Zwane has been critical of his own game, revealing that he has not been completely satisfied with his contributions whenever called upon, though he is confident that he has the backing of Cavin Johnson and his teammates.

“I feel I could have done better in the games I have played, but I have great support from the coaches and my teammates that encourage me to keep growing and improving,” he said.
