For Johnson, it was his third win in five matches with Chiefs, although the coach revealed his dissatisfaction with the performance on the day, stating that it lacks the Chiefs cloth.

“We won the game, but the performance was not what we’d like it to be. Trying to make the Kaizer Chiefs cloth and taking it to where it should be but the performance was a real grind because we knew we were coming to play against a team that runs and plays with the second ball after the long ball and we knew that we are in for a fight,” Johnson told the club’s media department.

Having had a week-long break before facing Polokwane City, Chiefs will once again enjoy a two-week break before taking on beleaguered Richards Bay on 23 December.
