Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs flew out to Tanzania and Burkina Faso respectively on Friday morning, as both DSTV Premiership sides look to get positive away results at neutral venues this weekend.

Sundowns, the 2016 CAF Champions League winners, take on Algerian side CR Belouizdad at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday, February 28. Due to concerns over COVID-19 restrictions, Sundowns were denied the necessary documents to enter Algeria and, as a result, a neutral venue was found for the group B clash to be played.

Sundowns started their group campaign with a convincing 2-0 win over Sudanese outfit Al Hilal, while Belouizdad recorded an impressive result away from home, playing to a goalless draw against five-time champions TP Mazembe.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, took a chartered flight to Burkina Faso, for a tough group C clash against Wydad Casablanca on Sunday.

Wydad are well known to South African football followers. They’ve played Sundowns in four different editions of the Champions League and are unbeaten as hosts to the Brazilians in the competition. It will be a tough game for a Chiefs side that has struggled to consistently get positive results this season.

Wydad kickstarted their group stage campaign with a 1-0 away victory at Petro de Luanda in Angola.
