Dortmund were unchanged from the first leg win a week ago, while PSG coach Luis Enrique made two changes as Beraldo replaced Lucas Hernandez while Gancalo Ramos came for Bradley Barcola in the attack.

While PSG looked to dominate the possession, the Bundesliga outfit were happy to sit back and attack on the counter with the pace of  Karim Adeyemi who was proving to be a handful.

It was becoming a frustration for the home side who struggled to carve out clear-cut openings, with the team being restricted to efforts from distance, none of which troubled Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobe.

Gianluigi Donnarumma had to be at his best at the other ten minutes before the break when Adeyemi was played through on goal via the counter, but the PSG shot-stopper produced a good save to ensure the score was level heading to the break.

That all changed in the second half when Dortmund to the lead on 50 minutes when an un-marked Mats Hummels got on the end Julian Brandt's corner and sent a header into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 on aggregate.

The home side nearly got themselves right back in the contest after the hour mark when Nuno Mendes unleashed a powerful first-time volley that crashed against the upright at the far post.

Enrique responded with a double change for PSG soon after that as Marco Asensio and Barcola replaced Fabian Ruiz and Ramos for the final 25 minutes of the second half.

It wasn't to be for PSG who went agonisingly close to pulling one back when both Mbappe and Vitinha rattled the crossbar in quick succession, with Kobe well-beaten on both occasions..

The Bundesliga outfit will now await the winner of Wednesday's semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
