Ivory Coast international Evan Ndicka had to be rushed to hospital on Sunday evening after he collapsed during AS Roma and Udinese's latest Serie A encounter.
The match was stopped around the 72nd minute, when the 24-year-old was seen clutching his chest twice before falling to the ground.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giallorossi boss and legend Daniele De Rossi went to the changing room to check on the condition of his player before returning to the pitch to tell Udinese manager Gabriele Cioffi and match referee Luca Pairetto that they did not feel comfortable returning to the game as they wanted to accompany Ndicka to the hospital.
The match was subsequently stopped, and the Paris-born player was taken to the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital.
The same report states that tests at the hospital revealed that his life was not in danger, but added that he will undergo more in-depth testing.

Although it is believed there is no issue with his heart, Ndicka will be kept in medical care as a precaution as health care workers look to establish what indeed is wrong with the central defender.
