Following Kylian Mbappe's decision to reject Real Madrid in favour of staying at Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year, Los Blancos are reportedly expected to perform a shock U-turn on the French forward.

PSG Boss Reacts To Neymar's 'Angry' Response To Being Subbed

Although only 23 years old and having recently left the door open to one day fulfilling his lifelong dream of representing Real, it seems bridges might have been burned after his decision to commit to a new deal in Paris.

Before the end of the 2021/22 campaign, with his previous contract approaching an end, Mbappe extended his stay in Ligue 1 amid a well-reported pursuit of his signature from Florentino Perez in Spain.

It was reported that the new deal he signed in France saw him become the world's highest-paid player, with it thought he now earns €150 million (R2.6 billion) a season on those new terms.

According to Spanish media house Marca, who are based in Madrid, the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners are unlikely to ever be able to pay that kind of salary for a player, as previously shown with Cristiano Ronaldo's departure in 2018.

Although his demands were not nearly comparable to what Mbappe is earning in France, Real decided to reject the chance to give into Ronaldo's wishes and instead allowed him to join Juventus in a club-record sale.

It is suggests Real will refuse to be held to ransom by Mbappe's demands in future, even if his contract in France does come to an end in 2024, as media reports in his home country claim it will.

Currently the sport's biggest earner, Mbappe would also likely require a mammoth signing-on bonus, such as the one he agreed to when choosing to remain at PSG, numbers Los Blancos will reportedly not be comfortable paying.
