Chen Xuyuan, former chairman of the Chinese Football Association (CFA), has been sent to jail for the rest of his life.
A France24 report says the ex-official accepted brides of up to $11 million (R207 million) after taking advantage of his authority.
Xuyuan's sentencing comes after 10 other former CFA leaders were reportedly brought to justice in recent years in China.
It is said the disgraced chairman accepted "particularly huge" bribes and that his actions "seriously damaged fair competition and order".
Earlier this year, Xuyuan confessed to his crimes in a documentary aired on television, admitting that "fans can accept the fact that the state of Chinese football is bad, but they cannot forgive corruption".
Former senior CFA official Chen Yongliang, meanwhile, has been handed a 14-year sentence, while ex-Everton midfielder Li Tie, who coached China's national team, is also facing significant punishment.
