Result: Real Madrid 4-0 Celta Vigo

Venue: Santiago Bernabeu

Madrid were without the suspended Jude Bellingham, who was replaced by Brahim Diaz, as one of the four changes that included Luka Modric, Nacho and Lucas Vazquez.

Los Blancos had a flurry of chances in the opening exchanges but they were kept at bay goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

However, Guaita was finally beaten on 21 minutes after Vinicius Junior scored from a rebound after veteran shot-stopper parried a header by Antonio Rudiger.

Carlo Ancelotti's charges kept on coming and Guaita continued to keep Celta Vigo in the game as ten minutes before the interval he made a blinding save at the bottom corner to deny Rodrygo with an effort from a tight angle.

Celta came to life towards the end of the first stanza and tested goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who was equal to the task and Madrid went to the interval with a narrow lead.

Rafael Benitez's troops were fired up from the break and were asking questions of Madrid's defence but did not come close to finding the equaliser.

However, Los Blancos got back to being on the front foot on the hour-mark after Diaz a strike that was smothered by Guaita.

Madrid were finding chances going forward but the likes of Rodrygo and Diaz were not clinical as they fired shots straight at the former Crystal Palace goalkeeper.

Los Blancos finally killed the game with ten minutes to go after Rudiger's header from a corner came off the crossbar and hit the backside of Guaita and rolled into the back of the net.

Things went from bad to  worse for Celta two minutes before time after Carlos Dominguez also conceded an own goal trying to clear a cross.

Arda Guler rounded off the scoring for Madrid as they ran riot in stoppage time and stretched their lead at the top of the table to seven points.
