There are plenty of intriguing matches still left to be played this season, with third-placed Arsenal, second-placed Manchester City and current leaders Liverpool gearing up for what fans hope will be an entertaining end to the campaign.
Often, it is the high-profile and well-paid footballers who step up for their clubs when it counts most, so who should we be looking to over the next few months?

Following a slow and difficult start to the campaign at Arsenal, Germany international Kai Havertz has been producing the goods in recent times. The attacking midfielder, according to Spotrac, is the Gunners' best-paid player on £280 000 (R6.7 million) a week.
The 24-year-old has scored in each of his past three appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League, while he has also provided assists for two goals. Considering his salary, it will be a relief to supporters to see the ex-Bayer Leverkusen man finding form.
Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, will be eager to see his more experienced Manchester United players get back to their best. Marcus Rashford, on a weekly wage of £300 000 (R7.1 million), will be key in the Red Devils' run-in, as will former Real Madrid duo Raphael Varane and Casemiro.
Among the stars Pep Guardiola can call upon, few of them connect as well as Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne do out on the field. The Norwegian is the second highest-paid player in England, behind his Belgian colleague.
City are also represented by midfielder Bernardo Silva and winger Jack Grealish on the list of the division's top earners, while Raheem Sterling, who is paid a whopping £325 000 (R7.7 million) a week, is Chelsea's only player in the top 10.

Like the Blues, just a single footballer in the standing belongs to Liverpool, and his name is Mohamed Salah. The Egypt international has returned to training with the Reds following an injury, but will be closely monitored ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash against Sparta Prague on Thursday night.
