Liverpool's Premier League title hopes continue to slip away after a 2-2 draw with West Ham United on Saturday.

Venue: Olympic Stadium

Reds coach Jurgen Klopp decided to drop Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai after Wednesday's loss to city rivals Everton.

The Reds enjoyed most of the possession in the early stages but struggled to carve out any clear-cut openings, with Harvey Elliot going closest with a volley into the side-netting after ten minutes.

West Ham, meanwhile, had top scorer Jarrod Bowen back in the line-up but they struggled to get any clear openings as the first half went on.

The Reds did go agonisingly close to pulling ahead five minutes before the halftime break when Luis Diaz cut inside and unleashed a low strike that crashed against the upright.

Three minutes later, West Ham were in the lead as Bowen grabbed his 16th league goal of the campaign by nodding home a cross from Mohammed Kudus.

Klopp's charges restored parity three minutes after the break when Andrew Robertson found the back of the net by firing home at the near post after the Hammers failed to clear their lines.

Liverpool completed the turnaround in crazy circumstances as Cody Gakpo's volley deflected off two West Ham defenders before goalkeeper Alphonse Areola knocked the ball into his own net on 65 minutes.

The Hammers got back on level terms with 13 minutes to play as Michail Antonio netted his seventh goal against the Reds in his career with a lovely header from Bowen's cross.

Salah eventually made his way onto the park just after that but not before he was spotted arguing with Klopp before being ushered away by Darwin Nunez, who was also brought on.

The Reds were unable to find a way back into the contest and had to settle for a point, as Arsenal and Manchester City can pull clear on Sunday.
