Salah Winner Keeps Liverpool's Title Charge Alive

Liverpool kept their Premier League title charge alive with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp made just one change from the defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup, as Connor Bradley replaced Andrew Robertson as Joe Gomez switched over to the left-back spot.

The visitors got off to the perfect start after just two minutes when Danny Welbeck pounced on a loose ball and volleyed into the top corner.

The Reds should have levelled matters after 18 minutes when Alexis Mac Allister delightfully played a ball over the top for Mohamed Salah, who sent his first-time volley over the target.

Klopp's charges eventually got level on 29 minutes when Salah's header was deflected into the path of Luis Diaz, who volleyed home from close range.

The home side dominated for the rest of the encounter in search of the go-ahead goal, but the Brighton defence were well-drilled to thwart any openings in the final third.

Jurgen Klopp's charges carried that momentum into the second stanza and were camped in the Brighton half, but they had to wait until the 64th minute to take the lead when Mac Allister piced out Salah who took one touch before slotting into the far corner.

Liverpool thought they had bagged a third goal six minutes later when Salah turned provider to play in Diaz for the close-range finish, the celebrations were cut short due to the offside flag.

The visitors nearly pulled themselves level with three minutes to go when former Reds star Adam Lallana dragged a low shot inches wide of the mark after Diaz gave away possession.

However, the Reds were able to see out the closing stages of the second half to claim maximum points and put the pressure on Arsenal and Manchester City
