Liverpool got back to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday evening.

Premier League

Result: Fulham 1-3 Liverpool

Date: 21 April 2024

Venue: Craven Cottage

Diogo Jota, Jarral Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch were all recalled by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, as Mohamed Salah was surprisingly named on the bench.

The Reds looked to get off to a lively start as Andrew Robertson did well to pick out the run of Luis Diaz, but Calvin Bassey got back in time to make superb block to deny the forward a one-on-one opening.

Fulham went close to pulling themselves ahead on 25 minutes when Bobby de Cordova-Reid held the ball up well and teed up Palhinha, who saw his first-time strike saved by goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

However, Jurgen Klopp's charges got the breakthrough seven minutes later when Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring with a wonderful free-kick that found the top corner.

The home side were able to get back on level terms just before the break when Timothy Castagne calmly finished into the bottom corner after a scramble in the box.

The Reds restored their lead eight minutes after the halftime break when Ryan Gravenberch bagged his first league goal with a lovely strike from just outside the box after being picked out by Elliot.

Liverpool got the two-goal cushion in the 72nd minute as Diogo Jota got his name on the score-sheet in the 72nd minute with a composed finish from close range after being played in by Gakpo.

That goal was enough to seal the victory on the day, as Klopp's charges moved up to second spot ahead of Tuesday's Merseyside Derby against Everton.
