The Saudi teams have been able to persuade the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Neymar, Sadio Mane and N'Golo Kante to their shores in the last year.

In an effort scare off interest from the emerging league, The Mirror have reported that City are prepared to offer De Bruyne a deal

The report claims the Belgian midfielder could earn £1million a week ( R23million) if he decides to make the switch to Saudi Arabia.

De Bruyne only recently returned to action and proved his importance by coming off the bench to register a goal and an assist in the win over Newcastle United.

City manager Pep Guardiola highlighted De Bruyne's importance in the team that already boast a number of star names.

"Kevin is a legend. He is loved by our people and, hopefully, in the last months he can help us be there to the end," Guardiola said, as per the Mirror.

"We need players like Kevin. We need him to do something special in the final third. That is not tactical ability but talent, individual talent. I think everybody agrees we made a really good performance against such a physical team in Newcastle.
