While the Frenchman's move to the Santiago Bernabeu has not been completed, there is a sense of inevitability surrounding the rumoured transfer.
It is believed the 25-year-old has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will not renewing his contract at the Parc des Prince once his current deal concludes at the end of this campaign.
The LALIGA giants have been closely linked with the forward for many years, and having missed out on his signature in 2022, it now seems the Bondy native will finally trade the French capital for the Spanish one.
It is a signing that please Real's European rivals City, according to French journalist Julien Laurens.
While the two teams are now serial contenders for the UEFA Champions League, the Citizens are said to be happy about Mbappe's expected move to Spain because it puts a hold on Los Merengues' potential pursuit of their star striker Erling Haaland.
While the 23-year-old marksman may have three years remaining on his existing contract in Manchester, earlier this week he seemingly opened the door to a potential move away from the Etihad Stadium in the future, but Laurens does not expect Real to push for the Norwegian in the coming off-season.

"At Manchester City, they are quite relieved by the fact that Kylian is going to Madrid because that closes the door, for now, to a departure for Haaland, or an approach from Real Madrid," Laurens told After Foot.
