After completing a shock deadline-day switch to Bayern Munich, Joao Cancelo has responded to rumours that he fell out with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Official: Man City Star Joins Bayern After Clashing With Pep
The 28-year-old Portugal international has joined the Bavarians on loan until the end of the season, with his deal including an option-to-buy clause.
Cancelo's move appeared to catch many off guard, even City supporters, although rumours had suggested the ex-Juventus right-back had been involved in a fallout with head coach Guardiola over his lack of game time in recent weeks.
The player has since admitted being frustrated with his situation in England but appeared to play down talk that his relationship with the Spanish tactician soured before his eventual departure.
"My decision had to do with the playing time that had been little in recent weeks," he told reporters, according to Planet Sport.
"There was speculation that my relationship with Pep was not the best but fact is I wanted to play more. I wanted to start this new adventure as soon as possible."
